ViB FAQs

Here are some answers to the most common questions about CBD and ViB.  If you don’t find your answer here, please us our contact us form or call us.

WHICH EXTRACTION METHOD DO YOU USE?

Our product is extracted using supercritical CO2 technology. This offers the cleanest extraction without use of solvents or ridisuals. Our products go through decarboxylation as well as winterization where ethanol is used (none will be found in our final product) to remove lipids and fats as well as waxes, which your body cannot break down. This makes our final product more bioavailable.

HOW DOES CBD WORK?

More research is needed to figure out the full array of effects this compound has on our bodies. Studies have shown the existence of a system of cell receptors in your body, called the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which spreads throughout connective tissues and even into your organs. The cannabis family of plants contain compounds which interact specifically with this system and provide nutritional and therapeutic value that is unavailable in most other plants

CAN CBD BE USED FOR ANXIETY?

Anxiety is one of the most common issues faced by Americans. While CBD will not cure or treat anxiety, many of our customers have found that gum helps them manage everyday stresses. ViB is currently developing a non-CBD Anxiety gum

WHAT IS CBD AND WHERE DID IT COME FROM?

CBD is extracted and separated from specific varieties of cannabis known as hemp. Chemically, CBD is one of 100+ chemical substances known as cannabinoids, which are all found in the cannabis plant. CBD is typically the most abundant compound in hemp, representing up to 40% of the plant.

Because our oils are extracted from hemp, you might hear this type of product referred to in a few ways: CBD-rich hemp oil, hemp-derived CBD oil, CBD-rich cannabis oil, or full spectrum hemp extracts. CBD oil is unique from typical hemp seed oil sold cheaply in the grocery store because CBD oil is an extraction of all aerial parts of the hemp plant, instead of only the seeds. This method of extraction produces a more robust oil.

WHAT ARE CANNABINOIDS?

Cannabinoids are the primary chemical compounds produced by the cannabis plant and there are more than 100 identified cannabinoids. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the most well-known cannabinoid produced by the cannabis plant and is the ONLY intoxicating cannabinoid. Of the 100+ non-intoxicating cannabinoids, Cannabidiol (CBD) is the most widely known.

WILL CBD GET ME HIGH?

No, our VIB products are derived from a hemp genetic and contain less than 0.3% THC, so no intoxicating effects are associated with them.

ISOLATE, BROAD, & FULL SPECTRUM (WHOLE PLANT) WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

VIB is considered a full spectrum hemp product. This means that our products provide a full cannabinoid profile that utilizes several different cannabinoids and terpenes, including trace amounts of THC below the federal legal limit of 0.3%

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CBD AND THC?

Cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are the two most abundant compounds found in cannabis plants. Both CBD and THC belong to a unique class of compounds known as cannabinoids.

The High: THC is probably best known for being the intoxicating ingredient in marijuana. CBD, however, is non-intoxicating. In other words, CBD can’t get you high.

Legal Status: While most countries have strict laws surrounding marijuana and THC, hemp-derived products are federally legal. However, regulations may vary from state to state

WHAT ARE TERPENES?

The cannabis plant consists of a wide variety of chemicals and compounds. About 140 of these belong to a large class of aromatic organic hydrocarbons known as terpenes (pronounced tur-peens). Terpenes are also found in fruit, spices, and other plants.

Terpenes, unlike cannabinoids, are responsible for the aroma of cannabis. The FDA and other agencies have generally recognized terpenes as “safe.” Terpenes work in synergy with cannabinoids to produce greater benefits. Some terpenes can even interact with cannabinoid receptors. However, more specific research is needed.

HOW MUCH CBD SHOULD I TAKE?

Selecting a CBD serving size is a relatively inexact science, since everybody metabolizes differently. Our recommended serving size is one ml daily, but everyone is different. Some people experience the best CBD effects for their needs with a lower or higher amount of CBD than our recommended serving size. Start low, and adjust as needed.

WHAT IS THE RIGHT STRENGTH FOR ME ?

CBD requires some trial and error to get the right amount for your body. With patience and practice, you should be able to judge for yourself the best amount, within just a few days of working with it. We produce oils in varying milligram strengths so you can find the sweet spot. For all VIB products, we recommend starting low and slow, especially if you are new to CBD, and working up to a strength that works best for you.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CBD?

Importantly, CBD helps to promote health and balance in the endocannabinoid system, which has been linked to a number of vital processes in the body. In our experience, CBD as a daily supplement has been useful for assisting in general health and life balance.

WHAT IS THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM (ECS)?

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a group of endogenous cannabinoid receptors located in the mammalian brain and throughout the central and peripheral nervous systems, consisting of neuromodulatory lipids and their receptors.

There are two main types of receptors in the ECS, CB1, and CB2. CB1 receptors are primarily located in the central nervous system and brains of mammals, and CB2 are generally found in the peripheral nervous system. There are two main cannabinoids mammals produce- 2AG and Anandamide (named after the Sanskrit term “Ananda” which translates to “bliss”).

For hundreds of millions of years every vertebrate on Earth has been equipped with this ECS, a crucial system in the body, and it has been known about in the scientific and medical communities since the 1980’s. However, it’s still not taught about in most medical schools.

DOES VIB GUM CONTAIN THC? WILL I FAIL A DRUG TEST?

Whole-Plant CBD Products:

VIB products contain trace amounts of THC, less than 0.3% which is the federally allowable legal limit. We can make no guarantees that our products will not cause a false positive on a drug test, due to the fact that VIB products contain trace amounts of THC, and individuals will metabolize those cannabinoids differently. We recommend that customers purchase a drug test for themselves to determine how their body reacts.

THC-Free Products:

Our THC-free CBD products are tested at several intervals of the manufacturing process to ensure they are completely free of THC. In exceedingly rare cases, it may be possible to trigger a false positive on a urinalysis due to the presence of metabolites created by CBD. This is true of any quality hemp extract because of the inconsistent nature of drug screenings.

WHEN DOES CBD EXPIRE?

The shelf life of CBD oil is 2 years.

DOES VIB HAVE AN AFFILIATE PROGRAM?

Yes! Become a ViB Ambassador, help promote general wellness.
